We’d all like to make sure our bills are paid on time and there are tons of apps in the app store to help you accomplish this, but not every reminder app for bills works as advertised.

Get on Track

No one wants to fall behind on their bills it’s just that sometimes we get a little distracted with other aspects of our life and just kind of lose track of things.

The best iPhone apps to calculate loans

There are lots of apps in the App Store that can help us keep ourselves on track with our bills, and Chronicle – Bill Reminders is one of the better ones. This app allows you to easily add bills to your list, and makes modifying your settings a breeze as well.

One of the things I really liked about this app was the use of visual icons. Let’s face it, paying your bills is not something you do because it’s fun, it’s something you do because it’s necessary. People often lose track of their bills because they find the whole subject rather bland.

We tend to retain things better when we’re given visual cues.  This app uses symbols to represent each bill which makes it easy to find what you’re looking for, and simpler to keep track of the bills you need to pay at any given time. You’ll need 5 MB of space available on your iOS device to download the app.

How it Works

The app is very straight forward to use, but if you do have any questions there is a help section, just click on the settings icon in the bottom left to access it. To add a bill to your list of payee’s you tap on the plus sign at the top of the left column.

All you have to do is choose a bill from the available list and fill in the details such as payment amount and how often it needs to be paid.

You can choose to turn reminders on or off, which is handy if you want to make sure you don’t forget due dates. Once you’re finished simply save the information and the bill will be added to your list on the left hand side.

Once you’ve developed your list you can explore the app a little. Basically there are two parts to the screen. On the left is your list of bills divided into three categories: overdue, due soon, and due later. This is a good way to help you prioritize your payments.

On the left hand side is a window that gives you all pertinent information about the bill you have currently selected. This window will tell you how much you pay on average for a bill, how much you paid last year, and how much you’ve paid year to date.

For this to work, you have to remember to log your bill payments, but as long as you remember to do that the app will track everything for you. It works without any glitches.
