The team behind the award winning Read With Me App is excited to announce an iPad version is now available in the Apple iTunes Store.
Read With Me App is digital reading fluency assessment app built for web and mobile devices. It is quickly gaining the attention of teachers, reading specialists and parents eager for a quicker, smarter way of monitoring reading progress.
Among the features already available in the web version, the iPad version adds offline capabilities and non-intrusive video recording of the student reading. Like the web version, real time results can be shared with parents and school staff to better assess reading difficulties.
“No other product exists out there like this that can record video of a student reading during an assessment. We are very excited and think that this will change how teachers assess their student’s reading fluency, as well as how students engage with a reading assessment. Now they can see and hear video of their own reading along with the text,” teacher and developer Francisco Nieto said.
“Other teachers and parents can get an email with a link to the report of their child’s reading assessment along with a video.”
Read With Me App began as a garage project and blossomed at the AT&T Mobile Education Hackathon in June 2012. The team of two teachers and a web developer won first place and have since released a web version and a version on the popular Edmodo App Store.
