Apps on sale
Long overdue, today we soft launch AppPicker’s News section.  Our primary form of communication since the website’s launch on April, 20, 2010 has been via Twitter but we have a lot more to say than what 140 characters affords.  Coupled with our robust Apps database, we hope you will come to rely on our website as an important source of information about iOS and Mac apps, the evolving mobile and tablet markets, Apple products and developments, and significant general technological events. We will publish every day an assortment of articles to keep you up-to-date on what is happening in the rapidly expanding world of iOS and Mac apps.  Moreover expect to see the following types of information in our News section: * App reviews written by a cadre of AppPicker writers * Breaking news about iOS and Mac apps and related items * The best newly free or on sale apps * The best apps released the prior week and month * Interviews with app makers * Previews of upcoming apps * Analysis of the general app marketplace * Contests and giveaways * Much more! The News section isn’t intended to be a one-sided conversation.  Your active participation, comments and opinions will be an important part of the overall experience.  DISQUS is integrated to lend your voice to the conversation on every article.  We expect our readers to debate us and among themselves and to even enlighten us from time to time. We are excited to deliver interesting, pertinent and thoughtful articles but one thing you won’t see us reporting are rumors.  Reporting rumors is mostly a waste of time but if it is your thing, the internet is rife with websites and blogs dedicated to initiating and perpetuating the feeding frenzy associated with rumors surrounding all things Apple. We understand the titillating attraction of being “in the know” (or thinking you are “in the know”) but we rather wait for something real to happen and then report it instead of participating in the endless and wasteful speculation cycle. We want you to check in with our News section multiple times throughout the day to read the latest and greatest on apps.  Another great way to stay in touch is to follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/AppPicker).   If you are so inclined, you can like our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/AppPicker/457362740634), too. Please bear with us as we rev up the News section’s engines and work through what we hope will be a minimal number of hiccups.  Although we’ve beta tested thoroughly, unforeseen issues always manage to rear their ugly heads. Please help us spread the word about AppPicker and the News section by telling everyone you know.  If you have suggestions or comments, please use the Contact Us form located at the bottom of every web page. We hope you will like the News section and greatly appreciate your ongoing support. Sincerely, Luis A. Gutierrez CEO, Founder & Editor-in-Chief
