Right now, in the United States, sports betting is the hot topic throughout the country.

In May 2018, the Supreme Court overruled PASPA and revoked that federal ban on sports betting. Additionally, this legal landmark also opened the door for states to not only legalize the betting on college and professional sports, but to also partake in other types of online gambling.

It should be noted that on a federal level, online gambling isn’t illegal. That means US residents, living in any state, can enjoy online gambling with international operators like the Mystino Casino.

A big reason why individual states don’t acknowledge international operators is because they don’t get tax revenue from money spent at those online gambling sites. But, that doesn’t mean that these operators are illegal or ignorable. In fact, it’s the exact opposite.

However, with the ongoing expansion of sports betting, more and more states are starting to allow and promote online gambling within their borders. Let’s take a look at the states that offer online gambling and what’s the best choice for you.

Which States Allow Sports Betting?

Since May 2018, every state within America has been looking at the legalization of sports betting in one form or another. This is because of the massive amount of revenue that sports betting can bring each state.

Currently, there are 27 states that have already legalized sports betting. These sports betting platforms range from in-person sportsbooks only to fully mobile and online websites and apps.

There are two other states (Wisconsin and Florida) that have already legalized sports betting, but are still waiting for customers to be able to place the first bets.

Both states hope that legal bets will take place by November in order to capitalize on football season which is the most popular time of the year for sports betting.

Another five states are awaiting further action from lawmakers as the deals are in place, but final approvals or language in the laws need to be solidified.

Then there are nine more states who want sports betting, but won’t be able to do anything until 2022 after legislators approve the bill to legalize sports betting.

As you can see, by next year, over 80% of the country will have legal sports betting. But, what about online gambling?

Which States Permit Online Gambling?

When we talk about online gambling, we’re using that label as an umbrella term to include online slots, table games, poker and more.

It’s rather surprising how the 27 states that already have legalized sports betting, don’t all have online gambling outlets.

In fact, only handful of those states have fully embraced online gambling. These states include places like: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, West Virginia, and Nevada.

Although the rest of the states don’t prohibit international operators, they don’t allow casinos to locally operate within their borders.

Another seven states are in the process of rolling out legislation for online gambling, but they could be looking at 2022 before this takes place.

Use International Operators

As you can see, the United States continues to severely lag behind other countries when it comes to online gambling. That’s why the best option for gamblers looking for online opportunities to gamble need to use international operators instead.

These companies, like Mystino Casino, provide users with plenty of awesome online gaming opportunities from slots to table games. It’s a great way to enjoy your favorite gambling activities from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
