I downloaded this app with high hopes because it looked like a reasonably well-made development and there are a couple of people who shall remain nameless whom I’ve been meaning to prank for some time now.

Unfortunately, every time I attempt to download the audio files for a given character, the app simply crashes and cancels the download. This could be a compatibility issue but I’ve noticed other users reporting similar issues on the iTunes description page so bear this in mind before downloading.

When you first start using PRANK ME! LITE Practical Joke Fake Calls you’ll be taken straight to the character selection section, and as this is the free version of the app, there are eight characters available as opposed to the 48 on offer in the full version.

The idea is that you can tap on one of the characters and you’ll then be prompted to download the audio in order to create a character set with pre-recorded phrases that you can use to guide the conversation with your victim.

The layout is great as all of the phrases are presented in a list format with each one centered on a general theme which is specific to the given character. In this case, it’s a rather sultry young lady by the name of Amber who is calling to deliver some bad news regarding a, shall we say, infection of sorts.

 

Erroneous Audio Downloads

By tapping on the Call button in the top right-hand corner of the screen, you can choose to either dial a number directly or select a number from your iPhone Contacts list. There is also a link which is entitled “Instructions” but this does not appear to bring up any visible content.

It’s just a shame that attempting to download the audio files causes the app to crash because I can imagine having a heck of a lot of fun with this!

I would still recommend trying out PRANK ME! LITE Practical Joke Fake Calls because you might find that it works with your iPhone or iPad, but unfortunately for me, I’m going to delete it because I can’t find any use for a completely silent prank call app!
