PlayKids - Videos and educational games for kids, toddlers and babies is a kids game that provides a safe interface for choosing children's television shows to watch on your device.
The best iPhone apps for kidsThe PlayKids app has 16 shows to choose from, and you can select which of those shows to disable if you prefer your child not have access to that show.
Let's take a closer look at this PlayKids app for iPhone and iPad in our Playkids app review. It might just be your kid's next favorite app.
PlayKids has a closed subscription-based television show viewing platform for children. Programs such as Netflix have now sectioned the database into kids and other, however, with PlayKids you can take the limits another step further.
Best iphone and ipad appsIn the settings, you will find a list of the 16 available shows, and the toggle list if you find the show inappropriate, annoying, or if your child had just driven you nets with the same episode all week!
There are also menu personalization options to show a train, a submarine, or a different colored train.
The 16 shows in alphabetical order are: Ben & Holly, Caillou, Eebee's, Harry and the Dinosaurs, Heroes of the City, Louie, Mouk, Musti, Nursary Rhymes, Nutriventures, Pajanimals, Sid the Science Kid, Super Why, The Hive, Wibbly Pig, and Yo Gabba Gabba.
I also appreciate the baby mode which locks the video controls while playing, and the auto-repeat for when you are trying to get dinner ready and the show ends five minutes too soon!
PlayKids is a subscription based service that will run you $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. Not that expensive, and it allows you to download the episodes to view so you don’t need an internet connection all the time to stream like you would with Netflix.
You can adjust the quality to make the download faster and less data as well. If you are on the go and only have your data plan, this is a great feature.
I will also mention the small game area. The first car of the train has a small arcade where you can make the fish jump and do neat things, play matching games, learn to draw, match the shapes to the toy box, connect the stars, do jigsaw puzzles, color, or play songs.
It’s really an app within an app, and will keep your child bust for a while without needing to start up another app. Keep guided access going and you’re set!

I love all the options and settings, and appreciate all the work that the developers put into this app. If you are willing to subscribe to another television show app, this is a great one for young kids.
