Toddler Counting 123 Free is an iPad and iPhone toddlers app that helps your toddler learn to count. My two-year-old loves this counting 123 app for toddlers, as this learning to count app has a caterpillar for the icon.

She excitedly asks for the caterpillar game, then counts the animals, fruits, vehicles, and more with ease. This free app for toddlers has become an invaluable learning tool for my child and it could become one for your toddler as well. 

Counting Is Fun!

Toddler Counting 123 is a fun app because the kids just tap the items on the screen to have the app count. For example, if bananas appear, then your child taps the bananas, and the app counts out “one, two” and so on as your toddler taps the bananas.

By the end of the first round, my two-year-old was trying to count too. Kids of this age are such copycats that learning by rote is a great exercise.

As your child counts aloud, he or she can learn to count by pointing, see the numbers, and hear the numbers. This is a great audio visual exercise, and rather than simply counting aloud with parents, the child also sees the numbers.

More Than Count Aloud

Toddler Counting 123 does more than count aloud as I began to discuss above. The child taps on the items, hears the number, and also sees the number. This rote style of learning is perfect for toddlers who love to make caregivers happy by repeating.

They’re little parrots! As kids repeat, they internalize, and this app also shows the written number for your child to internalize and recognize later on.

There isn’t any math in this app; it is straightforward counting. This is fine though, as my two-year-old happily sits with this app for a long time learning her numbers! I love how excited she gets when I ask her if she wants to play a game, and she shouts “caterpillar!”
