Waze by Waze Inc. is a navigation app that is community-based.

The app is designed to help you save time by finding the quickest and easiest routes, save on gas, and as a result hopefully improve your daily commute. There are currently 30 million users of this app who are working together to generate real-time traffic information. This information can in turn be used by you to plot your best route. All you need to do is drive while Waze is open so you can get and add information to the app.

While you're driving if you happen to encounter road hazards, construction, emergency vehicles stopped, accidents, or anything else that will affect road conditions you can report it. At the same time, you will receive alerts while you're driving.

Other features include voice-guided directions, the ability to share your drive with people by sending a link to a web map that is live with your real-time locations, and you'll earn points when you contribute to alerts and information. Maps are always being updated, and if your road conditions suddenly change the app will automatically re-route you.

Waze was updated on Jan. 17, 2013 and has 4,892 ratings with an average rating of five out of five stars.

I personally really like the gas feature on this app. The app will help you find the lowest-priced gas along your route thanks to the input from the community. This saves me from having to drive around and find the cheapest station.
