Wallet Guard app review

Wallet Guard

Price: $2.99

Wallet Guard by Kevin Boucher is an app that lets you store the contents of your wallet in your iPhone instead of in your wallet.

Basically, to use this app, you take images of the front and back of your cards. Barcodes from your club and rewards cards can be copied and stored for scanning at the till in stores. You can also store website, phone numbers, user names, passwords, and more.

The app uses industry-standard level encryption so you know your data is safe. All of your information will be safe and visible only to you. The app also features auto-lock. You can set your passcode to be numeric or alpha characters.

You can login securely to card websites from the browser.  Share wallet entries via email or Bluetooth, and sort and arrange your wallet entries to stay organized. It’s easy to search for information you need, too.

Wallet Guard was updated to Version 1.1 on April 12, 2013. The update added the numeric keypad option as well as other features that improved the user experience. You must be 17 or older to download this app. The app does not have enough ratings for iTunes to display an average.

I’ve been looking for a secure app I could use to hold my login info for various websites. I use keys instead of passwords, so they aren’t easily remembered. This app stores all that information easily. I also really like being able to show my dentist my insurance card info without carrying the actual card in my wallet.

For: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
