Headspace (on – the – go) by Headspace meditation limited is a health and fitness app that gives you quick and small tidbits that help you sleep better and be more focused in general. If you find it hard to relax and turn off your mind then meditation might just be what you need. This app was updated on Mar. 4, 2013 and is available in English.
The app is rather impressive when you launch it, with a number of menus and options available along the bottom of the screen. The design of the app is very sleek and professional; however, the screen can get a bit busy-looking which makes it difficult to find what you want sometimes.
This app comes with 10 daily meditations that are guided and unique. You can repeat these each day or whenever you need them. There are also specific meditations available, also for free, for helping you to cope with stress, eating, sleep, walking, mindfulness, and public transport. What's great is that after you download the meditations you can access them or use them offline. This means they are available to you whenever and wherever you want.
There are illustrations and animations that are meant to motivate you, track your progress on a daily basis using the dashboard, read scientific facts and figures, and you can use the meditation timer that includes an intro and outro. Additionally, if you want to purchase more meditations, those are available to you.
As a side note, 10 percent of the profit that is made by Headspace will go directly to the Headspace Foundation so you can even feel good about where your money is going.
There are nine Headspace programs available for purchase.
Version 1.7.1 now refreshes completed days and is easier to use along with the website.
The current version of the app has 19 customer ratings with an average rating of four out of five stars. The users are a bit mixed on this particular app. Some seem to be having issues with the app crashing on a fairly regular basis, while others love the ease of use and the fact you can use it offline.
Besides the fact that I found the screens to be a bit busy at times, I did like the app. I thought there was a good offering of free meditations that can make a significant difference in your day-to-day life. I liked that there were programs designed specifically for common problems/issues such as sleep, stress, and eating.
