Every young child loves him, every parent is completely irritated by him, but we all know Caillou means well, and now he has a new app. PlayWorld Caillou the Hero is geared for kids three and over and through some great little adventures teaches kids what it's like to be a hero.

Your child will help Caillou as he learns about being a construction worker, a police officer, an astronaut, a firefighter, a doctor, and how to just be the best kid he can be. Undoubtedly your child will love this app so just turn down the volume on your iDevice so you're not pulling your hair out while it plays.

Learn About Heroes

I know I took a few playful jabs at Caillou in the intro to this app, and to be honest I'll probably take a few more, but it was all meant in fun and that's really what PlayWorld Caillou the Hero is about. At its heart, Caillou the Hero is great little game that is easy to learn and will educate what our everyday heroes do in their jobs.

Each level is well-rendered and features all the same voice acting your child has grown to love from the television series. Whether he's building something in the yard, rescuing a cat from a tree, or just fishing with grandpa, every aspect of this game is meant to entertain your child.

Just tap the screen where the target appears to move Caillou to a task. This will launch the selected level with different objects to interact with. Tap each object once or multiple times until the task is completed then move on to the next. It seems basic to us but it will definitely enthrall your child.

 

For A Game So Basic There Are Some Surprises

As Caillou completes tasks, certain things will become interactive. Building the basketball net in the back yard provides Caillou a chance to shoot some hoops, or tap one of the vehicles and see what happens. You and your child will be very surprised as to how much forethought the developers had in keeping the replay value high.

The first hero Caillou will learn about is the construction worker; to purchase the full set is only $1.99. Now the interface to start the in-app purchase is actually kind of interesting and will prevent younger children from being able to access it. You have to enter three shapes for which you are prompted, then three more, then you will access the App Store, and you still have to enter your password.
