I’ve been having a fair few laughs with this app, and there are a handful of customization options which enable you to get your message looking exactly how you want it, which I’m glad to see. You can also delay messages by a few seconds to make them appear more legitimate so I think you could almost certainly use Fake-A-Message™ Free to trick a lot of people!

The easiest way to use this app is to use the Fake A Random Message function at the top of the screen which will randomly generate a message and contact name, with most of them being along the lines of “Where are you?” or “Come pick me up.”

Once you’ve written your fake message, you can choose to have it either appear immediately, within one second, or within three seconds. This is great because it gives you just enough time to hit the button and then put your iPhone back into your pocket.

If you want to delay your fake message further than a few seconds, you can actually schedule a specific time for it to arrive, and combining this with a pre-scripted text chat dating back a few days is sure to fool your friends almost every time.

I should probably mention that I really do not condone the use of this app for malicious purposes, so make sure you only use it for fun and frivolity!

Aside from the potential for abuse, I think Fake-A-Message™ Free is a great idea for an app. It’s very well-presented and I think the fake messages are very convincing unless someone were to literally grab your phone and analyze the screen.

If you want a Get Out of Jail Free card for tricky social situations, you absolutely must keep this app handy at all times.
