‘Paper Toss 2.0’ Is Simple, Addictive & Hilarious

From Backflip Studios comes Paper Toss 2.0, the predecessor to Paper Toss that features more amusing office-inspired procrastination and, believe it or not, chaos. There are six game modes and each includes the fan. Cubicle is set, well, within a cubicle. Toss the ball into a moving basket with Intern. Warehouse adds plenty of distance. Surroundings are an important factor in these three modes, as players can gain bonus points from banking shots off objects and people. There’s also an easy, medium and hard mode that are a stripped down version of Cubicle, Intern and Warehouse.

The random shouts and complaints are great considering the repetitive background noise of ringing phones and file cabinets. The graphics are well done … for an office setting. But the focus here is gameplay, not superb audio and graphics. Swipe to toss paper balls into the can. Simple, right? Wrong. Factor in a fan that changes wind variance with every throw, moving trash cans, add some distance and players are in for a simple yet addictive gaming experience. Add up Paper Points to upgrade the ball to a grenade or flying saucer. There are also power-ups to obtain, such as the Off Switch for the fan or Multiplier Boost which increases your multiplier value. Achievement titles and icons are almost as funny as trying to accomplish them. Toss a tomato or grenade at Larry for some hilarious achievements.

Players can buy Paper Points as well: 1,000 Paper Points cost $0.99, 3,000 for $1.99, 10,000 for $4.99 25,000 for $9.99 and 75,000 for $24.99. There are ads. Full screen ads usually appear when leaving a game to the main menu and an ad banner is present in every game mode. Players can purchase an ad-free version for $0.99. The ads are noticeable but don’t affect gameplay unless a swipe hits the banner.
