Niko is a No-Go Platform Game

Niko, a free game produced by Sulake Corporation, follows a lemur-like creature on his quest to rescue his friends. You play as Niko, roaming various levels filled with sun sprites, slippery walls, trampolines, rotating platforms, and other obstacles.  As you progress through the game, you open new chapters in Niko's story, which can then be read in the Information section of the game. There are three worlds through which Niko roams on his adventure, but only six levels in World 1 are available in the free version.  Each level is ridden with sun sprites, which are hidden in small, mirrored cages that resemble gems; the text informs us that 'freeing' these sprites will bring Niko good luck.  Furthermore, the more sun sprites you free at once, the higher your score.

There are three 'triggers' per level that you need to search for, as they are not always within plain view.  There is an advantageous 'zoom out' feature on the screen that helps you to see more of the level when searching for these triggers; it is also useful when you happen to get in a tight spot and need to find a way out. The game is fairly straight-forward with the only options being to move left or right, and an option to jump, which can be tricky in some situations.  Jumping is performed by sliding a small icon on the screen to get a trajectory path for Niko's jump, which is certainly valuable when trying to land on small spaces.  The jump option, however, sacrifices fluidity.

Niko is a No-Go Platform Game

Niko is fairly plain in features and not a very defined character; some further involvement with the character or his personal features would definitely add to the game's overall enjoyment.  His purpose seems to be lost and there is little excitement in completing a level upon hitting the red button. I suggest spending your time elsewhere, as Niko isn't very likable as it stands.
