Intoduction
It's no secret that with my background I take a lot of photos and video. Editing them on my iPhone has always been daunting; that is where the Orasis app comes in.
Orasis is a new take on the photo editing app niche. The developers call it "brain inspired photo editing"; I call it one of the best app for editing photos I've used in a while.
Finally you can get the exact look you want without having to export your pictures from your iDevice, which is something I've been looking forward to for a while. Check out our Orasis app review to see why this is a solid photo editor.
Who needs Photoshop
The Orasis app boasts that it will take your photos and adjust them so the image looks exactly like what you see with the naked eye. This is a claim that is 100 percent accurate.
Upon opening Orasis and selecting your photo, the app will automatically color-correct it to give exactly what inspired you to take the picture in the first place.
I was taken aback when this happened. Most photo apps have you doing all the minor tweaks and changes to get that look, but Orasis does all this painstaking work for you.
Orasis doesn't stop there, and trust me it could, but it provides you with a number of options on top of that to achieve the look you want.
Through the menu at the bottom of the screen you can view the original photo, use the auto edit function which I just spoke of, or customize the edit and color correction the way you want.
If it's minor tweaks to the auto function you want, the button in the bottom right of the menu will allow you to adjust the levels of your auto-corrected photo.
Color Correction Made Easy
The ways you can adjust your images in Orasis are limitless. Within the Manual correction menu are many options for you to try out: there are multiple presets you can use by just tapping the option, you can also adjust the Appearance, or adjust the contrast under the Corrections menu.
Once you get into the Color menu is where things for someone with no color correction background could get a little tricky. You can adjust the color saturation of the image as well as manipulate the image's Red, Blue, Yellow, or Green highlights.
The graph and slider interface to make these adjustments works really well, whether you're making minor or major changes to the color.
Luckily to those of you new to color correction, these changes aren't permanent; simply exit out of Orasis and the changes are gone. So you can play and experiment as much as you like to get the image you want.
