Introduction
Hate your front facing camera? Well, the Mirror camera app is here to help. I'm not quite sure where the "help" comes into play, but according to the iTunes description that's what the app for taking photos is here to do.
I'm going to say right out that this photo taking app review is going to be short, and depending on your views of my prior articles that could be a blessing or a hindrance. But this camera app for iPhone has so limited options, there's really not that much to review.
So It's an App That Is Just My Front-Facing Camera?
The Mirror app is basically just that: it's a mirror. So I'm sure you're asking what is the difference between that and your built-in front-facing camera on your iDevice? Well nothing really, other than the fact it says your "photos won't be flipped, and you can share them."
Well, the front-facing camera on your device doesn't flip the photos you take unless you choose to do so in the editing process, and hey if I tap the Select option in my photos library I can share those as well. In fact, I can do that just as easily as the app says it can, and all without the advertising bars at the top.
There Has Never Been A More Pointless App
Outside of maybe the name to trick you into thinking it's something different, Mirror could possibly be the most pointless app out there. If you want to use your phone as a mirror, just open your front-facing camera and do your make up and hair adjustments there.
You don't need an app called Mirror to do it. All it seems this app is good for is providing a developer to include advertising in your front-facing camera.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- There is nothing positive to say about this app
Cons
- It serves no purpose
- Just adds advertising to your front facing camera
Final Thoughts
I hope you didn't download the Mirror app to try it out as you read this review. It is honestly just used for advertising, sort of like recording your favorite TV shows and just watching the commercials. To be honest, and I always am, this app is completely pointless. Any user with the most rudimentary understanding of an iPhone or iPad camera won't need this at all.
If you decide to try this app out, don't say I didn't warn you. You will have just taken up drive space that would be better used for photos, or a song download off iTunes.
