Introduction
Our friend Boing is back to help your preschooler and Kindergartener with their Alphabet, Spelling and Phonics!
The developers at Tribal Nova never seem to fail with making these apps fun and entertaining for youngsters, so let's see if they've done it again.
The Return Of Boing
Everyone's favorite little alien has returned and has brought us this time to the Ice Land in the Alphabet, Spelling and Phonics! app. Once again the developers have outdone themselves in bringing loads of fun to learning.
Like all of the apps in the franchise, Boing will lead your child through three different game styles, each one geared to help your child learn a little more of the English language. Whether it's helping guide the letter-holding polar bears down the hill to their matching destination or helping the seals match letters to spell a word, it's a guarantee your child will have a blast.
The only trouble your child may have is in the phonics game where you launch a vowel via a sling shot at skating penguins to create the desired sound. The matching part is easy, but your child may have a bit of trouble pulling back and aiming the sling shot without it misfiring. That being said, after a few attempts any kid will easily master it.
That has always been the best part of this game franchise: even if the game may seem difficult at first, the gameplay is fun and the learning curve is so slight your child will get it in no time.
If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It
With a loveable title character, great graphics, and stunning sound, there is little to update in these titles. But really, why bother? The goal for all of these games is learning with the most fun possible and the developers constantly do that, even though the only things that change are the environments, game style, and subjects that are taught.
Each time I review one of the games in this series it always brings a smile to my face to know that kids out there are getting great lessons presented to them in a fun way.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Great graphics and sound
- Even with a slight learning curve in one of the levels the gameplay is fun enough that kids won't get frustrated
- Excellent combination of fun and educational content
Cons
- There is nothing negative to say about this app
