Best iPhone Apps for Teachers

The iPhone has a number of great educational apps as education is something that Apple has a great passion for. There are so many apps out there that could be classed as 'useful' for teachers but there are a few that every teacher with an iPhone needs to download. Here are a few of the best iPhone apps for teachers that we have come across.   #1 - TeacherTool This is a very in depth application for the iPhone that will allow you, as a teacher, to do everything you could ever want to do. Basically, TeacherTool is an app for grading your students and managing classrooms. This app does everything that you might expect it to do including allowing you to keep track of attendance, assignments and more, but it also has some pretty in depth features too. For example, TeacherTool allows you to set up different checklists for events, allowing you to see which students have paid for upcoming trips and which haven't. It also allows you to export data to an Excel spreadsheet and email it as an attachment, right from within the app. There are three different versions of this app. There is a free version which will allow you to manage only one classroom. With this version, there are a number of in-app purchases which allows you to add features on a pay-as-you-go basis. There is a full version of this app for the price of $30.99. We recommend that you try the free version of the app first but we are sure you will be delighted with the features on offer. Get the app here.   #2 - TeacherPal This is yet another app that is really focussed on teachers and once again, it is great. This app is a little bit better looking than the TeacherTool app but doesn't have quite the amount of features that TeacherTool does. This app is completely free however and it allows you to organise your classes and students easily using the intuitive app interface. TeacherPal allows you keep photos and access them from iTunes and much more. You can also see all of your classes at a glance due to the extremely well designed interface. There are many excellent features still to come when it comes to this app including homework checking, application passcode lock and more. This app is available free from the iTunes app store,     #3 - Essay Grader This app does exactly what it says on the tin; it allows you to grade essays. Essay Grader is perfect for any teacher that regularly has to grade essays (so all teachers more than likely) as it has an extremely simple interface. The app allows you to export grades to your computer and even email them directly to the student in question with ease. This app costs just $5.99 from the iTunes app store and once again, is a must-have for every teacher out there. Get it here.
