Swipe & Type - Free app review: one developer's attempt to bring the Swype function to the iOS
Introduction
If you're tired of your friends and co-workers throwing the Android’s Swype input method in your face then the Swipe & Type app for iPhone and iPad could be your savior.

I Think I'd Rather Have Surf & Turf
Where to begin with this review…well, first and foremost, the Swipe & Type app doesn’t work. In fact if you were to not have the app at all and swiped your finger across your device’s keyboard you would get the exact same effect as what Swipe & Type gives you. That is, aside from the neon green outline around the letters you touch.
The best iPad apps for presentations 2020Even if Swipe & Type did work as it purports, you can only utilize it in the app itself. If you’d like to share your message you can only do so via email. But when attempting to type the word “hello,” and the result is “hgrety” who would want to?

Sometimes The Built-in Input Methods Are The Best
This brings me to my next point. The touch recognition of this app is completely off. Even if you swipe in what would seem a natural progression on a qwerty keyboard, letters you did not even remotely come near turn up in the result. In short, Swipe & Type - Free is appalling. I cringe to think about those users out there who opted to download the paid version.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- There is nothing positive to say about this app
Cons
- The app does not work at all
- Even if it did you can only utilize it in app and share your note by email

Final Thoughts
I've reviewed a few bad apps here and there, but none have been as gut wrenchingly horrible as Swipe & Type - Free. Save the drive space on your iPhone and iPad and don't even consider downloading and installing this app. Even though this app was free, I'm seriously debating about contacting the developer and charging them for the time I've wasted attempting to use it, let alone reviewing it.
