Whether you’re looking for an easy conflict-way of splitting household expenses, or you’re planning a big vacation or event with a large group involved, you’ll find everything you need in this powerful iPad and iPhone bill splitting app to resolve any disputes and split costs the easy and fair way.
I’m very impressed with this bill splitter app all in all. I’ve come across quite a few different cost-splitting apps, and this is almost certainly one of the better examples that I’ve had the pleasure of using.
Splitwise app is the easiest way to share expenses with friends and family and stop stressing about “who owes who”. Millions of people around the world split bills with this app to organize group bills for households, trips, and more.
This app makes a great addition to the Finance category of the App Store, so I would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re facing arguments over how to split the rent, restaurant bill, or any other expenses.

The first thing you’ll need to do when you first start using Splitwise - Split bills and expenses the easy way is to create a user account and specify your currency of choice.
Unfortunately there is no option for doing this using a Facebook account; however, given the sensitive nature of some of the information that you’re likely to be inputting into this app, I think that is probably a wise move on the part of the developer.
As you go through the setup process, you’ll be asked if you’d like to add your apartment or a group trip to the app. If you’d rather fly solo and not use what is essentially a template, you can simply skip this stage to be taken directly to the main interface.
From here, you’ll be able to add some of your friends via your Contacts list, or you can tap the plus icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to add your first bill. Adding friends enables you send over an invitation to them via email or text message.
The Add a bill section is very streamlined, I’m pleased to see. You can sort your bills into various categories, add descriptions, attach images and notes, and much more. You can also choose how the bill is to be split, be it equally or otherwise.
In this bill splitter app you can add expenses, IOUs, or informal debts in any currency, with support for offline entry. Expenses are backed up online so everyone can log in, view their balances, and add expenses in the splitting app.
The latest updates to this app have improved its overall functionality with the added ability to share PDF receipts, in-app alerts, the settling up process, bug fixes and more.
