Introduction
Here’s a mobile tool that can be of assistance to a large grouping of people that includes nursing students, anyone thinking about nursing school, student nurses, medical assistants, nursing assistants, or nurses. The RN Cheat Sheet app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone acts as a patient care clinical reference tool, which will prove to be quite handy while you’re in the field. It can be used in the classroom as a study tool, in the field, and even in the hospital.

What to Expect
This app is loaded with all kinds of helpful information and is known for how easily it calculates flow rate and drip rate. Because it's so user-friendly and packed with information it can actually be used even by non-medical field people just as an interesting reference tool. This app is not even a year old yet but has a pretty solid customer rating. The app is free to download and use but not all features are included in the free version. Depending on what you're using it for you may want to unlock everything, which can be done for $4.99.

The comments from users all seem to reflect the same type of sentiments: it’s great for the fact it offers such a wide variety of information in one handy location. Not only that but because it’s mobile you’ve always got it on hand whenever you need it.

Using the App
There are plenty of features in this app such as reading up on CPR, infection control, procedures, lab values, the drip calculator tool, Metrology (Med Math) conversions, abbreviations, and quick reference material. When you launch the app you will need to share it with friends by email or Facebook in order to start using it. There seems to be some sort of bug here because when I try to share it on Facebook it tells me it hasn’t been set up properly by the developer. Sharing it by email seems to work.

Once in the app the first thing that strikes me is the pop-up ads: not just one, but many that you will you need to close just to get to the main menu. It's probably worth noting that you can remove the ads for $0.99. If you plan on using the app on a regular basis you will definitely want to take advantage of this purchase. The user interface is set up to look engaging, where it succeeds. I also find the content is very quick to load and it’s easy to navigate through the app.

Final Words
The RN Cheat Sheet app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone can certainly come in handy for those in the medical field. Unfortunately the free version offers very little content and the amount of ads make the app almost unusable.
