MyLab / Mastering Mobile Dashboard app review: helping you stay on top of your coursework

Reviews

Introduction

Helping you connect to your MyLab & Mastering course experience, MyLab & Mastering Mobile Dashboard is a free iPhone and iPad app. Giving you quick and easy access to things such as course announcements, test scores, deadlines, and results from anywhere at anytime.

It seems like it is still in its development stages because a few key features are missing, but it is also apparent that the developers are working hard on improving the user experience and enabling access to the full spectrum of functionality that an app like this should have.

Present And Promised Features

MyLab / Mastering Mobile Dashboard has a very easy-to-use interface, enabling smooth navigation to the information you are seeking for each of your courses, even if you have different user names for them. Simply swipe across the screen to view various course-related details and stay on top of your coursework without having to go through convoluted university systems or multiple offices for each department.

As mentioned before, this app is still in its developmental stages and doesn't include certain features that would elevate it to the next level. The developers do promise to add functions such as the ability to work on your assignments, receive course support, and receive alerts and messages among other functions.

For now, if you would like to work on your assignments, you have to log in to your MyLab, XL, or Mastering product from your PC.

Final Words

Although it may seem like it's a big drawback to not be able to complete coursework using MyLab / Mastering Mobile Dashboard, it is still a far more convenient way to stay up-to-date on course information and announcements without having to find a PC. A free and compact 5.5MB download is definitely worth it! Considering most similar education apps cost a bomb, I would highly recommend jumping onto the MyLab / Mastering Mobile Dashboard bandwagon before the developmental stage is over and they start charging money to download this app!
