Faded app review: the premier all-in-one photo-editing app 2021

Reviews

Introduction

Containing incredibly powerful photo-editing tools and effects inspired by film, Faded will turn you from a photographer to an artist. Optimized for iPhone 5, this photo editing app is available on both the iPhone and iPad with a vast array of filters, actions, effects, camera tools, and overlays.

This photo editor for iPhone costs under a dollar, giving you access to all the tools available in this iPhone app for editing photos without any hidden costs.

Several free filters and effects are featured as in-app purchases and can be bought for 99 cents, or the entire collection, “All Pack” can be purchased for $4.99, making this a great and inexpensive deal. Edit photos with this app and share your finished images with friends and family.

Filters, Effects, And More

Faded features 34 free features with an additional 36 available for purchase. You can preview each filter inside of a grid before you apply it, giving you a feel of the nostalgia of classic film.

The in-app camera has tools such as manual exposure, hands-free snap shutter countdown, compositional grid or square format, and split exposure, focus points, making you feel like you are using a DSLR rather than a mobile device.

Effects are innumerable including color bursting gradients, light leaks, emulsions, and unique frames, lending a powerful, tailor-made effect. If the effects available are not your style, you can also purchase additional ones.

If you wish to add another layer with an image, color, or pattern to your photo, simply use the Overlay option. This allows you to adjust the opacity, filter, and blending mode in order to accomplish just the look you're after.

You can also use any of the 12 custom adjustments such as fade, highlights, sharpen, and grain to further customize your photos. Adjustments can be saved as presets for future use on other photos. These presets are known as Actions.

Actions & Sharing

One of the features I really liked about Faded was the ability to go back to any part of the photo-editing and undo all of it. Each step can also be saved as a custom action to make a photo-album of photos with similar effects.

Once complete, photos can be shared via the usual social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, or email. They can also be uploaded to Evernote or Dropbox in high-resolution. The developers are easily reachable and are willing to add or improve features contained in Faded.

Final Words

Faded is one of those photo editing iPhone apps which may seem like just another photo-editing app until you use it. It really made me feel like I was using an “old school” DSLR rather than an iPhone or iPad, so if that's your thing, then I suggest buying this app. It only costs 99 cents and the in-app purchases are non-essential.
