Lost Words app review: are word games your thing?
Introduction
If word games are you thing and you're always on the hunt for fun new ones to discover, here's one you may want to check out. Lost Words can be played on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and provides you with a challenging gaming experience. In this game you need to find all the hidden letters in a word; the catch is that you have a limited amount of guesses so you'll need to get that word right pretty quickly. The game is very simple in theory but can be extremely challenging once you start playing.

Are You Ready for Some Word Play?
As mentioned this is about finding hidden letters and creating just the right word from them. You have a total of six tries to get it right. Don't worry, you get a little help along the way because a letter that is in the wrong spot will appear orange while those in the correct spot are green. Hints will also be given to you so you aren't spending days trying to find that perfect word.

This app currently doesn't have any customer ratings but you will find comments on the game which are a bit mixed. While no one is flat out raving about it, there also don't seem to be too many issues. It seems like the game could do with a bit more polishing and perhaps instructions that are clearer.

Playing the Game
When you launch the game you’ll find it’s got this cool laid-back Egyptian feel to it with the graphics and music. You can choose from two different game modes: arcade or classic. When you choose classic mode you then can pick from four different levels of difficulty. You may want to start in the easiest level and work your way up as you get used to the game and start training your brain to find these hidden words.

I have to say I agree with some of the users that find the game is a bit confusing. It’s really just a matter of getting used to how the game board is set up and remembering what the color coding means for the letters. I find this part as challenging as actually figuring out the word in the beginning. The game can be played by all ages whether it be adults or kids. There are "kids" levels of difficulty which make the game a lot easier for them.
