Cornify app review: an app that will allow you to randomly add unicorns to any photo

Introduction

Some of the apps I come across are just too weird to be able to write about with my common sense. Usually with these apps I have a hard time seeing why anyone would like to download them, but this time I’m actually pretty content with the fact that the developer doesn’t take itself too seriously either. Christof Ono actually has a great sense of humor which you can see on the iTunes App Store page. The Cornify app is a photo app for iPhone (it also works with iPad) that will help you "cornify" every picture. To cornify can mean two things, and I’m not sure what the developer means: making things more corny, or adding unicorns. Maybe it’s both.

How it Works

As with many other photo apps, you simply choose a photo from your Camera Roll or you take one straight away. The app also allows you to take a selfie, by tapping the Selfie Time! button. You will then end up in the editor where you will first get prompted to add text. After you have added the text there are two different options. The first one is to press the Cornify button, which will randomly add pictures of rainbows and unicorns to your photo. You can simply tap these and drag them to any place on the picture. I didn’t seem to find a way to remove any unwanted rainbows or unicorns. The second option is to simply blow into the microphone of your device and sparkles will appear. You can also draw on the photo by flipping your iPhone upside down.

Sharing Features

A good photo app needs the option to share, and luckily the Cornify app also delivers on this. You can of course share any photos you’ve cornified with Twitter and Facebook, but you can also save them to your Camera Roll or add them to an email as an attachment. This way you can liven up the days of your loved ones by sending them photos of you with unicorns on it. It really doesn’t get any better than this.

Conclusion

Normally I would rip this app apart, as the app seems like a waste of time, but while I wrote this I tried to put myself in the head of a 10 year old girl. This must be the best free app for a girl like that, as what is more fun than glitter, rainbows, and unicorns? Cornify is an app I would download without thought for my daughter, niece, or cousin, simply because it’s simple homely fun. The app is designed for iPhone, but works with iPad and is completely free.
