Little Ear Doctor - kids games app review: time to head to the doctor
Introduction
Here's a fun offering for kids: they can head off to the doctor but don't worry, this visit will be fun! The Little Ear Doctor app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone is ideal for kids ages four and up. This is a brand-new release and gives kids a chance to step into the shoes of an ear doctor and solve a number of patient problems. The game uses plenty of fun graphics, animations, and sound effects to keep kids entertained and happy.

Failing to Stand out
There are plenty of apps out there that are exactly along these lines - allowing kids to step into the role of a doctor. This one really doesn't offer any unique features or stand out from the crowd, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing as it's still a cute offering. Here kids will be trying to help out various patients that come in to see them using the tools provided. These are common tools you would find if they went to visit a doctor regarding your ears.

The app is free to download and play but there are a number of locked features. You can unlock everything for $4.99, unlock just the patients for $2.99, or just the tools for $2.99. The app gets 3.5 out of five stars from users who enjoy the game but feel without unlocking all the features it's a bit dull and limited. I definitely agree with users on this point. The free version won’t be enough to keep kids entertained in the long-run.

Features of the Game
Right away you are greeted by ads, which is always a big negative in kids’ games. The last thing you want is for them to accidentally click on a game purchase without your knowledge. These ads continue throughout the game unfortunately plus there is an ad banner across the top of the game. The free version gives you access to two patients, which is at least enough to get a feel for the game. There are little prompts that help kids to figure out what they need to do, making it possible for even young kids to understand the game play.
