Box-Off app review: strategize through this game
Introduction
How would you like to find a game that actually requires a lot of thought on your part, one you can't just rush through mindlessly? If so, the Box-Off app might be what you want. This app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and will have you strategizing through a number of challenges. The game itself is very easy to understand which makes you all the more motivated because you know you should be able to figure it out.

Challenge Yourself
It's rare to come across a game that has a perfect five star rating from customers, incredible user reviews, and seems to be very consistent; however, that’s exactly what you’ll find with the Box-Off app. This one will have you putting your brain to the ultimate test as strategizing is what this game is all about. There are "tiers of objectives" that you need to conquer, skips, power-ups, and mines that will mess with your gameplay. The goal is to become a Tier Master, which of course is neither simple nor quick.

While the graphics are nothing fancy or high-tech they are still wonderfully done, clean, and engaging. The app is free to play but there are in-app purchases of Box Bucks that you may want to consider. These purchases range from $0.99 to $2.99.

Playing the Game
Once you’re ready to begin you’ll be greeted by a simple main menu so you can quickly get to the game. For me there is just something so wonderful about games that don’t try to hide what they are and instead take pride in their minimalist approach. You have two choices when you launch the game: single-player or multi-player online. The app does support Leaderboards to give you that extra challenge.

The way it works is that you are given an objective at the start of the level which you need to follow in order to be successful. In single-player mode you will be playing against the computer taking turns drawing lines. This is where the strategizing comes into play. You want to create more boxes and create them faster than the computer but at the same time you’re watching the game board trying not to give your opponent any opportunities. The same is true in multi-player mode. You won’t want to get over-confident in this game because just when you think you’ve got your opponent beat and you let down your guard, boom, you’re in trouble.

The Box-Off app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone can be described with the saying “more to it than meets the eyes” because even though it is so simple it is incredibly challenging and addictive, and a whole lot of fun at that!
