Talking Translator Pro app review: translate text in more than 50 different languages

Reviews

Introduction

This is an app for iPhone and iPad that has been designed to help you translate between different languages by using your voice or text. Unfortunately, there are issues around connectivity with this app so I would consider trying out the free version (see Pros & Cons) before spending your money.

The best iPhone apps for learning a foreign language

Ordinarily I find language and translating apps to be very well-developed with their own unique spin on the genre courtesy of different development teams. While Talking Translator Pro looks nice and simple, I think the problem might be that it’s a little too simple.

The reason I say this is that most of the features and content on offer are available free of charge online. The need for Internet connectivity does render this app a little redundant aside from the convenience that it affords, and the problems don’t end there…

Connectivity Issues Abound

Unfortunately some users are complaining that there is no connection available when trying to grab translations, and I’ve definitely found it to be incredibly temperamental; enough so that I wouldn’t want to spend my money on such an inconvenience.

The best iPad apps for translations

This may be due to compatibility issues between different devices so I would still like to suggest checking out the free version of this voice translator app because there are 13 languages on offer which should be more than enough to test its effectiveness before investing in this version.

See below in the Pros & Cons for a link to the free version of Talking Translator.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Translate text in more than 50 different languages
  • Dictate text instead of typing it and have your voice translated from English, Spanish, Italian, French, Polish, or Portuguese
  • For some languages you will find audio translations available for your chosen words or phrases
  • Check out the FREE VERSION of this app for text translations in 13 different languages

Cons

  • There appear to be some serious issues with connectivity over both Wi-Fi and 3G connections so I would have to strongly advise against purchasing this app until these bugs have been fixed
  • Much of this content and functionality is available completely free of charge from common service providers like Google

Final Words

In its current form, I can’t recommend Talking Translator Pro - Travel learn and speak english , spanish & many languages because it just isn’t worth the money, in my opinion.

I would recommend looking elsewhere for a translator app for your iPhone and iPad.
