World Soccer Finals 2014 app review: One of the first of many World Cup apps to come
Introduction
Once every four years the largest and most popular sporting event in the whole wide world, the FIFA World Cup, takes place. Even though the United States of America qualifies almost every time, since they hosted in in 1994, the event still has a lot of fans desiring the nation to win this major sporting event. With the World Cup just around the corner, there will be many different apps coming out and I will try to write about as many as I can. Today I will start with World Soccer Finals 2014 by Nicholas Ocholla, which is developed for iPhone but also works fine on iPad.

What does the app have to offer?
What I expect from most of the apps coming out in the next month or so is that they first of all offer a full fixture list and of course live scores. This is all covered in this app and I will not settle for less. On the home screen of the app, the first thing that catches my eye is the inclusion of a countdown timer that stops at the very moment of the opening match. From within the app you can see the full fixture list, the standings and the live scores, as well as information about the statistics, the different stadiums that are scattered around Brazil and of course the latest news about your favorite teams.

App Design
To be honest, I expect a lot more nowadays from the apps that cover such a huge sporting event. This app isn’t really well designed and looks like a program for Windows 3.11 (for those who don’t remember this, this was one of the first Windows operating systems for home computers). The app supports videos, but these take a long time to load and I had the app crash on me a few times as well.

Conclusion
Personally I would wait a bit longer for downloading an app to keep you up to date with all the FIFA World Cup 2014 news. I can assure you that in the near future, there will be plenty more great apps out there, including an original FIFA one. This app just feels like it should have been released years ago and is pretty buggy, as I had it crash more than a few times. The app is designed for iPhone and weighs just under 10 MB.
