I was very surprised when I found out that one of my friends in Central America is absolutely addicted to South Korean soap operas, but the quality of other drama shows is, just like in the rest of the world, rising hugely. If you are one of these people who likes these shows, you of course want to know all about them. That’s why developer Ghost Stream Corp has designed Asian Drama lite. This app is available for iPad only and does not allow you to stream shows.

I expected to find an app that would allow you to stream these Asian dramas all over the world. Nothing is less true, as this app is simply a reference allowing you to see all the information about the shows and their actors. This is actually very well done, including tons of photos, running time, and a lot more other information. All this information is also linked together, so if you really like one particular actor or actress, you can easily find out in which other shows they star. The content of the app is for now limited to only a few Asian countries, namely South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan. For any shows from other countries you should try and find this information on the Internet.

For each series, actor, and actress you can find detailed information about them in the app. There are also tons of different pictures and the app loads all the photos you can find on Google Search, straight in the app for you. There is even a search function supplied in the app, but it just helps you find the show you’re looking for.

There is also a full version available for the real fans, but the only thing that that version offers is an ad-free experience. During my period of testing this app I never ran in to any annoying ads, so you never will have to do this unless you want to support the developer.

For any fan of Asian TV dramas, this is the app of choice. All the information you will ever need about your favorite actors, actresses, and shows is all available right here in the app. There are a few ads in the app, but it never gets to a point where you get really annoyed with them. The app is only available for iPad, but I’m sure an iPhone version should be in the works. The app is just over 10 MB.
