What we have here is a very interesting and entirely alarm clock app for your iPhone and iPad that will have you laughing (or maybe crying?) your way out of bed as you receive quirky comments and are rewarded for playing along with this sentient alarm clock’s whimsical games!

I absolutely love the idea behind this iPhone alarm clock app but I should probably warn you that it might not be for you if you really struggle to get out of bed in the morning without hitting the snooze button a dozen times.

Other than that, I would very much like to recommend this app because it has certainly given me a few laughs and makes a very refreshing change from the native iOS Clock widget and its oh-so-boring alarm sounds!

Introducing CARROT Alarm, the world’s first sentient alarm clock, and boy does she have some attitude! You’d better be willing to do what she wants if you’re to get any kind of rewards back from her, and yes, that does include getting out of bed on time each morning!

In all seriousness (or perhaps not), this is a really funny app that is perfect for getting your day off to a humorous and generally light-hearted start, and there are load of awesome mini games to keep you entertained in the wee hours; perfect for those nights when you just can’t get to sleep.

By going along with what CARROT wants you’ll begin to receive rewards and upgrades to the app, providing you with new features such as songs and even bedtime stories to help you drift off each night.

All in all, I’m really impressed by what the developer has achieved here, and once again I’d like to mention how refreshing it is to see something new brought to the table in the otherwise tired genre of alarm clock apps.

• Includes a collection of awesome mini games to keep you entertained in the wee hours  

Cons                       

• One user has remarked that this app is “Worthless for aggressive snoozers,” going on to say, “[…] managed to snooze for 55 minutes before she stopped letting me and forced me to do my "chores" to turn it off. The tactic worked, but 55 minutes? Really? She can harp at me all she wants, when I'm half asleep and my bed feels comfy and warm I am SHAMELESS at snoozing.”
