Introduction
There are so many different dictionary apps available in the App Store that it’s hard to find what you are actually looking for. There are dictionaries for every language from every language, some using just text while others use speech and photos to make things clear.

Some languages are easier found than others as well, and in terms of dictionaries, the most common ones are the simpler languages using the same characters as us. To find a good dictionary for Korean words you need to look long and hard, as just text will not suffice.
I stumbled upon this Korean English Dictionary app for iPhone when I was looking around the App Store and developer Xung Le made this all-in-one dictionary available for both iPad and iPhone.

What it Offers
As you would expect from a dictionary, the app translates English words to Korean words with ease. The only problem is that when you type in an English word and the translation comes up, the app only reads the word out in English, making this feature useless for any English speaker who can’t read Korean!

You can tap on the Korean writing, but then you have to select one of the options (in Korean) that comes up and a Korean voice of low quality will say the word so quickly you won’t even have known what hit you.
It feels like this app simply does a Google search for you as you will also get images, and urban dictionary meanings, which have nothing to do with the Korean language.

Terrible Layout and Design
One thing I am really adamant about when it comes to reference apps is that the design and layout need to be clear and clean. The worst thing is that the developer promises it’s simple and clean, which it absolutely isn’t.
Best iphone and ipad apps
Ads are everywhere, cluttering the interface, and it’s not really clear what definition you should be using. On top of all that the different layers of depth you go in the app overlap each other making it confusing and difficult to use.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- The app is completely free
- Works offline
Cons
- The app is designed terribly and is difficult to use
- Ads are everywhere
- It isn’t handy to use on the road

Conclusion
For a dictionary, this app is way to difficult to use and badly designed for me to recommend it. If you can read Korean, then this app might be handy for you, but if not you will be left as confused as I am now.
The best thing about the app is that it does say the words to you, but you will never know if you actually have the right meaning or not. The ads make this app even worse. The app is designed for both iPad and iPhone and is just under 60 MB.
