EEG Display For NeuroSky MindWave Mobile app review: view your brain's electrical activity with a NeuroSky MindWave Mobile headband
Introduction
This is an absolutely fascinating app for your iPhone and iPad that you can use in conjunction with a NeuroSky MindWave Mobile headband to view your brain’s electrical activity and create an ongoing record to monitor how your brain responds to certain stimuli.
I should start this review by saying that while I’m not qualified to fully vouch for the efficacy of this app, it certainly does provide some interesting data.
Given that you can purchase this app for only a couple of bucks, I’d suggest checking it out for yourself to see what you think.
Receive Legitimate Brainwave Feedback
Whether we’re talking about weighing scales, heartbeat monitors, or seismographs, there are all manner of iOS apps that are essentially fake and based on luring people into buying in-app upgrades in the hope of getting some actual functionality.
This definitely isn’t the case with EEG Display For NeuroSky MindWave Mobile: A Quantified Self Research Tool.

Not Without Its Limitations
Although this app has a little trouble distinguishing between brain activity and muscular signals for facial movements, swallowing, blinking and so on, you should still be able to get some pretty decent data from it.
I’m still somewhat undecided about EEG Display For NeuroSky MindWave Mobile but it definitely looks very promising so I would still suggest giving it some serious consideration if you’re in the market for this kind of utility.

Cons
-
I personally find this app to be very interesting indeed but one user has described it as ‘Extremely Disappointing’ and remarked negatively on the iTunes description page, stating: “Looks good in the App Store but on an iPad Air it doesn’t always know the Mindwave is connected, is very slow to start, the scaling controls don’t appear to work, the help screen when you’re in the EEG and Bandlogger modes are windowed as if for an iPhone and where’s the display that shows attention and meditation? All in all it’s a mess and I feel I’ve been ripped off. The app could be salvaged but some serious effort is needed.”
Final Words
I think I’ve said all I have to say about EEG Display For NeuroSky MindWave Mobile: A Quantified Self Research Tool for iPhone and iPad, so I’d say go for it!
