Itsy Bitsy Spider - All In One Educational Activity Center and Sing Along is a fun iPad game for young kids to begin learning. My two-year-old loves the song Itsy Bitsy Spider, and it was the first song that she sang, quickly followed by the hand gestures. When I saw this app full of learning activities I had to give it a try!

Itsy Bitsy Spider - All In One Educational Activity Center and Sing Along has a lot of unique features. There are 10 games in all to choose from: Itsy Bitsy Spider sing along, Coloring Book, Puzzle Fun, Peekaboo Garden, Spider Math, Bug Race, Counting 1 to 10, Web Directions, Bug Shapes, and Maze Challenge.
The best iPad apps for learning MathStarting with the sing along, you get to have more than one back ground setting! I haven’t seen this in any other app at this time. You start with a house, and then go straight to Rapunzel’s tower! There are these two setting unlocked, but there are several more to look at should you choose to unlock the full app for $3.99. Alternatively, you can unlock each activity for $1.99, but that would cost a lot more!
The Puzzles are a simple drag and stick. Once your child gets the piece close to where it belongs, the puzzle grabs it. This is perfect for little learners who have trouble wiggling other app pieces into place.
One of my favorite features in the coloring book is the multi-colored pen. Rather than your child coloring the whole picture one color, every time they lift their finger, the color changes! This is awesome, because my daughter just taps and taps until the whole picture is black, or brown, or whatever. This way, she uses more colors and was excitedly calling them out to me as she did so.
The maze is fairly easy for little kids too. Just draw a path with your finger rather than having to move the spider.
If your child is a little older, than there are activities for them too in Itsy Bitsy Spider - All In One. Bug Shapes, Counting 1-10, Web Directions, and Spider Math are all a little more difficult.
The best iPad apps for reading for kidsThe Bug Shapes uses shapes such as ellipse, hexagon, and so on. It is a little more basic than circle and square, but not out of the realm of acceptable for a preschooler. Counting 1-10 is also perfectly acceptable range for a preschooler, as is Spider Math.
Pros
Cons
While Itsy Bitsy Spider - All In One Educational Activity Center and Sing Along for iPad and iPhone is a little on the expensive side, I am seriously considering purchasing it for my two-year-old. She had a great time playing the activities, and there is always a cost to developing apps. The trick is to have it presented in such a way that the parents are willing to shell out the money, and this app intrigues me. I’ll keep my eye on it and decide in the next couple of weeks. I will definitely be keeping this one on my iPad for my kids.
