Little Evolution World app review : An interesting Tamagotchi like app with a great evolution tree
Introduction
There is nothing more fun than owning a pet. There are plenty of different apps on the App Store that mime the successful toy from the early nineties. Most of these are just about feeding your pet and there is nothing more to it than keeping it alive and playing some meaningless games with it. Some of these apps actually draw more towards Pokemon, allowing you to have your pets battle it out with on another. Little Evolution World takes a page from both of these books and brings an evolution simulator to the App Store. The app, which his developed for both iPad and iPhone, allows you to grow your own creature and is just over 45 MB in size.

Gameplay
The gameplay of the game is easy. You will need to feed your creature different food. You can pick between 3 types of food. Meat, vegetables and some weird yellow turd looking kind of food. Each food will affect the way your creature will evolve, but of course you will run out of food. Your crate of food will fill itself slowly, but you will need to collect it every once in a while as the crate will get full and no food will be added anymore. This is how the app will make you come back every time. When you feed your pet enough food it will evolve into a new animal, from where it can evolve in yet another few different creatures. There are over 40 different combinations so you will have to play the game many a time to unlock all of them!

Graphics and Sound
The graphics are exactly what this kind of game needs. The animals are cute, there is no confusion on what to do and there is only one screen to worry about. The sound of the game is also sufficient, but I decided to switch it of as it gets quite boring after a few minutes of playing. You might like it, but the constant nomming of my pet really got on my nerve. There is also a nice tree of evolution where you can see all the different combinations possible.

Pros and Cons
Pros
-
A lot of evolution combinations
-
Only one screen to look at
-
Fun graphics for the different creatures
Cons
-
Makes you come back every 5 minutes or so
-
The sound is annoying
And grow!!!
Conclusion
Although Little Evolution World is a very basic game, it is quite fun and has quite a nice addiction level to it. You can play it whenever you want, but to get through the evolution tree quickly you will need to come back every so often. The game looks fun, though the sound is rather annoying. The app is designed for both devices, and weighs just over 45 MB, which is a bit steep for a basic app like this one.
