IXL Math Practice is a very detailed and very helpful app for practicing math. If your student needs practice homework, this app will be a great asset. I use it with my tutoring students regularly, and enjoy that there is such a variety of topics. In fact, every sub-subject of the curriculum is covered.
The best iPad apps featuring Abraham LincolnThe menu is very intuitive. The first menu is simply a bubble grid of the grades. The next menu is the sub-subjects of that grade level’s math such as geometry, multiplication, and so on.
The following menu is the route to learning, beginning with the introduction and review to the topic, and progressing through the interactive electric textbook.
IXL Math Practice is a really well-designed education app. I love how easy it is to navigate, and also that there is a pen option with many colors to differentiate amongst the notes you have jotted. Students often need a scrap paper, or some other manipulative to figure out the answers, and this app allows them to jot as they go.

Pros
Cons
IXL Math Practice is an iPad and iPhone app that allows teachers and parents to work with their student for extra practice, tutoring, or first time learning.
The app would be valuable in the classroom learning situation, and also in the tutoring session, or homework practice. The app allows you to see how your child is progressing, and is fun for your child once he or she figures out how to use it.
The use is quite intuitive, but it does take some getting used to. Overall, I find this app to be very useful; however, my students tire of it and want to move on after 15 to 20 minutes.
I have plenty of other tutoring apps to assist in my teaching, so this isn’t an issue, but it is not their favorite as it is more work- and textbook-oriented. I would still definitely recommend this app, as it has excellent content that is inclusive of all of the math curriculum.
