Glucose Buddy app review
Glucose Buddy
Price: Free
For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad
Glucose Buddy by Azumio Inc. is a Diabetes logbook manager with syncing, blood pressure tracking and weight tracking app. Basically, it’s a data storage app for people with Diabetes, or for those who are the main caregiver of a person with Diabetes. To be clear, though: the free app does not include the blood pressure tracking and weight tracking. You have to make an in-app purchase for those additional functionalities.
Users can enter insulin dosages, carbohydrate consumption, glucose numbers, and activities, then view all the data on their free online account at glucosebuddy.com.
Features include the ability to sync your iOS device log to the online site, the ability to print records, desktop access, set up push notification reminders, and an A1C estimator on the online site.
If you have Diabetes, or cares for someone who does, then this is a great app to keep track of important info. What’s cool is that you can even print off records to take to your medical appointment so your doctor can see on paper what your numbers have been like.
The app was updated to Version 3.7.0 on October 4, 2012. The app has a total of 5230 ratings with an average of four out of five stars. The most recent version has 288 ratings with an average of 4.5 stars. The latest version fixed some bugs and made improvements to the app’s performance.
There are some in-app purchases you can make: $3.99 for the blood pressure and weight tracking option, $3.99 for the No Ads add-on, and $12.99 to make it a multi-device app.
The app was ranked the #1 Diabetes iPhone Application by the founder of TuDiabetes.com and has been featured in Wired Magazine, JDRF Newsletters, MedGadget.com, American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Forecast Magazine, MobiHealthNews, and DiabetesMine.com.
