If you're looking for a way to get your child interesting in solving mathematical problems, then Pop Math Lite is an iPhone and iPad app that should end your search.

Gameplay

Pop Math Lite is a very simple and basic game which will only take up 1.6 MB of space on your iPhone or iPad. As soon as you open up the app, you'll see the vividly colorful user interface with the mission statement: “Your mission is to pop pairs of bubbles!” and a button underneath that leads you to Level 1.

When you tap on that button, the game begins. There are two types of bubbles on the screen; some constitute of just a number such as “8” or “6” while others have, for instance, “3 + 5” or “4 + 2.” Your job is to match the addition bubbles with their sum, so you'll tap once on “3 + 5” and then on “8” (because 3 + 5 = 8) and that scores you a point.

When you match the correct bubbles, those bubbles will pop. The goal is to clear up the sky of all bubbles, and you'll be able to proceed to the next level. That's basically all there is to the gameplay!

On the top left corner is your Level display and on the top right, your points. When you finish a level, you will also learn how much time it took for you to finish the level, and how many mistakes you made, if any.

When you continue to higher levels, you'll find that the number of bubbles along with the number values both increase to keep the game challenging!

This app only constitutes of addition operations, but if you like it and decide you wish to upgrade to the full version, it will cost you just 99 cents to unlock all the basic operations, namely subtraction, multiplication, and division. The full version also includes practice options for tables from 2 to 12.
