Smurfs’ Village by Beeline Interactive, Inc. is a winter/New Year’s themed app where you have to build a Smurfs’ village.
Story background: the evil Gargamel has found the Smurfs’ village and scattered it to the winds. It’s your job, with direction from Papa Smurf, to re-build a suitable village for the Smurfs to inhabit.
The app is totally old-school Smurfs-looking, with original-looking artwork and character development. You start the game with one mushroom house and a small plot of land. You have to plant crops, build houses, build bridges, develop paths, design elaborate gardens and fields to grow food for the Smurfs, and more.
You get to pick your fave Smurft to play and can make in-app purchases of Smurfberries to speed up the growth of your village. Do be aware that if you let your kids play, you should turn off in-app purchases if they know your password; one option is a wagon full of Smurfberries, which costs $99.99!
There are mini games within the app that you can play, like Papa Smurf’s Potion Mixing Game, Lazy Smurf’s Fishin’ Game, and more. Some are free, some are not. You’ll unlock bonuses as you play.
The Smurfs’ Village app is Game Center Integrated so you can compete with your friends as well as people from all over the world. You can connect with friends through Facebook and even send them gifts to their village. One of the best features is that you can play offline.
The app was updated to Version 1.3.1 on December 13, 2012. It added the New Year’s Eve fireworks display. The current version has 113 ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars, while the app over all versions has 84,162 ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars.
I like this game but since you only get about 10 minutes or less of play time before you have to spend any Smurfberries, I can’t give it a very high rating.
