Guardian Alerts by Brilliant Apps, LLC is an app that will help you keep track of your children’s location using your iOS device.

There’s no registration fee and no subscription fee. All of the features of the app are included with the original purchase.

Having this app will help give you peace of mind because it will help you know, via text and/or email message, where your kids are, when their phone is off or on, when they arrive or leave a location, when the battery is getting low, when the battery dies, and where the battery died. When you have this app, you can also talk to your children over the VoIP network for free if both phones have Guardian Alerts installed.

The app also comes with Instant Turn-by-Turn Directions so your child can get home whether he or she is walking, using public transit, biking, or driving. Your child can also send you his or her current location in a text message.

As long as the child carries an iPhone, this app will work. The parent’s phone does not have to be an iOS device as long as it is capable of receiving a text message.

You can receive a message if the iPhone gets turned off, and when it gets turned back on. You’ll know exactly when you can call and reach your child instead of voicemail.

Yet another benefit of this app is that you can remind your kid to charge his or her iPhone because you’ll know when the charge drops below a certain level.

If the iPhone becomes lost, Guardian Alerts can send your phone a text letting you know the GPS coordinates before the battery dies. Set the password so your child can’t change notification settings, if you want.Guardian Alerts app review

The app was updated to Version 2.0 on December 8, 2012. The update added Instant Turn-by-Turn navigation, the ability to send current location by text message, and improved the reliability of the alerts. There are currently not enough customer ratings for iTunes to display an average but the one feedback comment displayed is positive, with a rating of five out of five stars.

I love the idea of this app. If my daughter were older and had her own iPhone she’d definitely have this installed. I’ll recommend this to all of my friends with children.
