If there’s one type of musical instrument that an iPad or iPhone seems perfect for making music it’s the drums. Drums are an instrument that relies on a basic tapping movement to create their sound and with the iPad or iPhones touchscreen technology it really does seem like a match made in heaven.
Drum Pads 24 by Paul Lipnyagov is a drums app for iPhone that really takes advantage of this synergy between these iOS devices and the drums by creating a drum synthesizer that has the ability to create drum based electronic music with its 24 different pads.
Best of all it’s a whole lot of fun. This is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. For more details about this good iPhone app for making music, check out our Drum Pads 24 app review below.
Drum Pads 24 has a lot of competition in the App Store as there are quite a few different drum synthesizer apps to choose from. Some of these are just children’s toys, but others are actually quite sophisticated.
Drum Pads 24 actually measures up quite well, with 24 different pads it offers a lot of great sounds to choose from so you can come up with some pretty innovative sounds.
There are management simulation games for every major global sport and the best ones all have a few things in common. Variety really is the key to success in this category.
The great thing about this app is that it features excellent video tutorials to help get you started on the right track. Written help sections are nice, but there’s no substitute for an actual visual demonstration when it comes to this type of app.
The only really negative thing in this app is that you will have to put up with some ads. Along the bottom of the app are banner ads that you can’t get rid of, but there are no full paged ads to deal with so it’s not a major concern. This app will require 18.8 MB of available space on your iOS device.
The main screen of the app features twelve colored pads, to access the other twelve you’ll notice a the letter A in the top right corner if you tap on this the app switches over to the next twelve pads which are denoted by the letter B. To switch back you simply tap on the letter B.
Each pad makes a distinctive sound when you tap on it – some of them create different sounds if you hold the pad down, while others feature short sounds with no need to hold the pad down.
If you go into the settings menu located in the top left corner you can change the pitch of each pad to give you a whole different range of sounds, so the musical combinations you can come up with are only really limited by your imagination.
You can also record your efforts by tapping on the record button at the top of the screen, so that you can share your musical genius with friends and family. You really can create some pretty neat recordings with this app.
