Mortal Kombat has always been one of the premier fighting franchises for platform gaming and this one doesn’t disappoint. This is an action packed entrant into the franchise.
The best martial arts apps for the iPadThis game was originally released for standard console games so it includes a few adaptations to make it run smoothly on the iOS platform. Obviously iPhones and iPads feature touch screen technology in place of standard game controllers so you don’t have the depth of controls in this version, but it’s still a lot of fun.
The biggest issue you’ll run into in Mortal Kombat is that the game may take a little longer to load than you’re used to with iOS games, but the amazing graphics you’ll experience in this one are bound to take a little longer to load so there’s nothing surprising about this.
There are also a lot of in-app purchases in this one in the form of different game packs you can use to upgrade your characters. These are just shortcuts though as you can achieve the same things by fighting your way through the game. This app will require at least 773 MB of available space on your iOS device.
If you’ve played Mortal Kombat X on a console system it will be an entirely different experience on your iPhone or iPad. You don’t have the same level of control with a touch screen device so you simply fight by tapping on the screen and swiping in different directions when the game indicates you’re ready to perform a special move – it’s still a lot of fun.
The best iPad apps for fighting gamesWhen you’re ready to perform a special move a skull will appear in the bottom corner. In each fight scene you’ll need to tap furiously to defeat your opponent, but don’t forget to protect yourself when you’re opponents attacking.
If you want to increase your characters powers you need to collect souls and koins which can then be redeemed to make your characters stronger and to give them better powers. You’ll also want to keep your eyes out for bonus missions when they become available as this is a great way to collect souls.
The other thing that makes this one a little different is the three team combat teams you use. The idea is that you tag in the next member of your team when their special skills are needed or when the health of a particular fighter is running out.
This is the developer’s way of getting around the lack of a game controller by giving you a three person team so that you can control different aspects of combat. It’s a unique feature that requires you to keep your wits about you.
