iBooks by Apple is a great way to download and read books from the iBookstore so you can store them on your iPad and take them with you on the go.
If you're looking for an extensive collection of downloabable book titles then the iBook app follows through. It doesn't matter what you're looking for, whether it be the classics or best-sellers, you'll find it here.
Keep in mind this app isn't just for adults as you'll be able to download all kinds of children's picture books as well as cook books, art books, photo books. and so much more. On the iPad you have the luxury of reading books whose format has been specifically designed for viewing on iPads by giving you multi-touch and full-screen viewing capability. These particular titles even include interactive features like photos, diagrams, and videos.
When it comes to actually reading your books you can choose from a number of different fonts and three different page layouts so you can really customize it to your liking.
That app was updated on Nov. 14, 2012 and has a total of 299 customer ratings with an average of two out of five stars.
One of my favorite features by far was the fact your own personal collection of books is displayed to you in a bookshelf format. You can literally browse through your shelves, tap on the book you want, and then swipe to flip through the pages as you read. And thanks to the size of my iPad I felt as though I was really reading a book from my library.
For: iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch with iOS 5.0 or later
