I particularly like this application because it offers direct access to a huge list of different local ABC affiliate television news desks. By keeping track of Chicago, Flint, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, San Francisco and Toledo, I can really feel like I'm on top of the coverage across the nation.

This application is also well designed with touch-sensitivity in mind. It is easy to use both the search and the browse features with a single hand, allowing one to catch up with the news while simultaneously enjoying a fresh cup of coffee. This type of mobile convenience makes it much preferable to accessing their content via traditional web interfaces. It's one of the free news apps for iPad and iPhone users.
