Instant Heart Rate by Azumio Inc. is designed to measure your heart rate using your devices camera.

Having a healthy heart is part of living a good lifestyle and a good way to keep track of your heart health is to monitor your heart rate. The lower your resting heart rate, generally the better your overall heart health. Instant Heart Rate lets you check on your heart rate any time you like.

To use Instant Heart Rate you simply start the app and it will prompt you to place the tip of your finger over your camera lens. You must ensure that the lens is completely covered and on older devices without a flash you must also make sure you have adequate lighting.

After several seconds you will begin to see your heart beat on the display and a countdown will begin. Once the timer has finished a summary of your measured heart rate and general health information is displayed on your screen.

Instant Heart Rate was updated to Version 2.7.6 on June 13, 2012 and included new push notifications and SDK integration. There are currently 192 ratings with an average score of 4.5 stars out of five.

This app is a great tool for using at the gym. I use it regularly for tracking my heart beat while I`m working out. It would be a useful app for those who like to jog as well, you could track your heart beat as you run to know if you are pushing yourself hard enough.
