C25K – 5K Trainer FREE by by Zen Labs is all about health and fitness and helping you meet your own personal goals.
The idea behind this app is to inspire and help beginners become 5K distance runners in a mere eight weeks. Even the extreme couch potato out there has hope with this app.
You'll be given a full program that works at gradually increasing and building your stamina and strength during the eight weeks. This is done through running and walking three days a week. You don't even have to dedicate seven days a week to the program, which makes it a much more realistic goal for people.
Features of the program include being able to listen to your music and playlists while you work out. The app will give you audio alerts so you know when it's time to warm-up, walk, run, your halfway point, your cool-down period, and then when there is just one minute left of the program.
There is a social aspect here too as the app is integrated with the Twitter and Facebook communities so you can chat with other runners sharing similar goals.
The reason the program has you working out just three days a week is to make sure you rest in between so you muscles are given a chance to heal.

For me I liked how realistic this program was. Working out three days a week was something I could easily fit into my schedule and I found the program itself very easy and fun to follow.
