FlightStats by FlightStats, Inc. features real-time airport and flight status tracking.

Whether it's you or one of your loved ones who is flying this app can help you track the flight. You'll be given fast access to flights from around the world. All you need to do is enter the airport, flight number, or route to find information.

Use the scan feature to learn about delays, arrival or departure times, and gates. You'll even be given weather details.

The app uses maps that you're able to zoom in on to track flights. You can use the flight timeline to also gain a full description of everything to do with that particular flight. The idea of the app is to answer all your travel-related questions so that you know exactly what to expect and what’s going on during your journey.

The flight description includes such information as the flight name/number, what time it departed or is departing, where it departed or will depart from, the gate, and so much more. You can even track the flight on the map showing its speed, altitude, and how many miles it is from its destination.

In this latest version the app was enhanced thanks to a number of minor bug fixes. It now runs smoother and faster, making for a better experience.

FlightStats was updated on Jan. 31, 2013 and currently has seven customer ratings with an average rating of three and a half out of five stars.

I found this to be a pretty good flight tracking app for flight tracking information. I liked that unlike some of the other flight tracking devices, this one gave you access to flights from around the world, rather than just in North America.
