Nighty Night! HD by Shape Minds and Moving Images GmbH is a delightful kids bedtime stories app for the iPad and is ideal for children’s bedtime.

Aimed at children aged one to four, this kids app for bedtime involves turning out all the lights in the house and barn so that all the tired animals can get their much-needed sleep for the night.

Nighty Night! HD is wonderfully illustrated and features a soothing narrative, along with winter and summer versions that you can switch between depending on the season.

Other features include interactive animals, relaxing lullaby music, and an auto play function so that you can leave it to gently carry your child off to sleep.

This is a free app; however, there is a selection of other animals available that can be obtained via an in-app purchase.

I can certainly see how this can be an engaging app that will whisk very young children off to sleep. The fun animations and interactive elements make it more appealing than a simply storybook, which means that you might like to try making this part of your child’s daily bedtime routine.
