Introduction

Scanner Pro by Readdle is a fantastic document scanner app that will allow you to use your iOS device as a scanner.

Have you ever been somewhere and wanted to copy the information off of a whiteboard, note, receipt, or other document? Now you can with Scanner Pro. The app uses a special algorithm that makes the documents as readable as possible by removing shadows, correcting perspective, and making the scans sharper.

After you’ve scanned the document, you can save, print, email, or upload to Google Drive, Evernote, or Dropbox.

Features of the app include the ability to convert sketches and notes to digital copies, you can save book pages or interesting articles for reading in the future, you can sign your contract with a pen, then scan and send it back, and you can scan your receipts to keep track of all of your expenses.

All documents you scan are uploaded as PDF files. You can add newly scanned pages, delete, and rearrange pages within each file as you like.

It’s easy to send any document you’ve scanned: just tap the “Send” button. You can also use iCloud to sync across all your devices.

Scanner Pro was updated to Version 4.5 on May 21, 2013. The update added real-time border detection. The app is available in eight languages. The current version has 27 customer ratings with an average of four out of five stars. Feedback comments are all positive.

I’ve had this scanner app for iPad and iPhone a couple of months now and I use it a lot more than I originally thought I would. It’s so much faster to scan something rather than trying to copy out the text; I use it a lot for recipes and to digitize artwork my daughter brings home from school.
