Golfshot: Golf GPS by Shotzoom Software is meant for those golf enthusiasts who want to be able to have GPS access to a massive selection of worldwide courses. This app is loaded with information for your GPS on more than 40,000 courses around the world, totaling 500,000 greens. You'll be able to use this app to record and track your shots as well as all kind of other information and details.

The app was updated on June 6, 2013 and is currently available in English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, and Traditional Chinese.

 

User Experience

The user interface features a design that is meant to be simple and quick to use on the fly while at the course. You'll find plenty of details on each screen regarding the green. This information is meant to be used to help you set up the ideal shot using the ideal club.

Features
Besides tracking and recording your shots you can also track your clubs used, save information about rounds, and use the 3D flyover to take a look at each hole so you can set yourself up in the best way possible. Snap pictures of holes/rounds and make notes so you can refer back to them next time. You can even compare you statistics with others that have handicaps like yours.

When you download the app you'll get access to the PRO features for free for 30 days as well, which gives you a chance to see if the PRO version is better suited to you. This version features tips like club recommendations for each shot that are based on your performance, real-time distance to hazards and targets, and you can zoom in on your targets.

You have the option of upgrading to the full paid version for $9.99.

In the most recent update to version 1.1 there were optimizations and bug fixes made that is meant to give the user a better experience both feature wise and speed-wise.

When it comes to golf, the more information you can gather, the better set-up you are for having a great game, great hole, and great shot. I really liked the features this app offered, however the PRO version certainly gives you that extra bit more that once you experience you’ll likely want to spend the money on the upgrade for. Features like the real-time hazard distance will be invaluable to your game.
